NATA EXAMINATION 2019: SYLLABUS, EXAMINATION DATE, PATTERN OF PAPER, TIPS.

As an architecture aspirant, NATA is probably the most important part of getting admissions anywhere in the field of Architecture. Conducted twice a year the first part of NATA examination was held on 14 April 2019. The second examination will be held in July 2019. Students can register themselves for NATA by June 12, 2019.

Let’s start with the elementary aspects of NATA Examination 2019 below-

Eligibility Criteria for Candidates to appear for NATA exam

  • 10+2 or equivalent passed/appearing or
  • 10+3 Diploma (any stream) passed/appearing recognized by Central/State Govts

Pattern of Questions and Mode of Answering:
Part A comprises of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) to be answered online & Part B is answered on A4 size drawing sheets.

SUBJECT DISTRIBUTION OF MARKS TOTAL MARKS

Part A (TOTAL= 120 MARKS)
Mathematics- 20 Questions OF 2 MARKS EACH TOTAL= 40 MARKS
General Aptitude- 40 Questions OF 2MARKS EACH TOTAL=80 MARKS
Part B (TOTAL = 80 MARKS)
Drawing 2 QUESTIONS OF 40 MARKS EACH NATA Total of 200

  • Objects, texture related to architecture and the built environment.
  • Interpretation of pictorial compositions,
  • Visualizing three-dimensional objects from 2D & 3D drawings
  • Analytical reasoning, mental ability (visual, numerical and verbal)
  • General awareness of national/ international architects & famous architectural creations
  • Mathematical reasoning

  • Scale & proportion of objects, geometric composition
  • Shape, building forms & elements, aesthetics, color texture, harmony & contrast
  • Conceptualization & Visualization
  • Drawing of patterns
